On behalf of the organizing committee, I am pleased to invite you to attend the International Conference on Polyploidy, Heterosis and Epigenetics that will be held on May 21-23, 2007 in Beijing, China.

This conference follows the Banbury meeting on Polyploidy, Heterosis and Genomic Imbalance (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in April 2005) and the International Polyploidy Conference (London in April 2003). The growing evidence supports the notion that genomic and gene expression changes in polyploidy and heterosis are mediated by genetic and epigenetic mechanisms. We hope this conference will promote knowledge and idea exchanges in these three areas, which will illuminate mechanistic and evolutionary insights into understanding of two fundamental phenomena (polyploidy and heterosis) in biology.
